When Change Calls

Donna Cavanagh
One great fear that we all possess
Is that change will knock on our door
And force us to go to an unfamiliar place
And leave behind a life we think we adore

There are those who hide when change calls
They lock the windows and pull the shade
They cower in a corner hoping it will go away
They pray that the need for change will fade

How sad it is to be so afraid of change
For hope and opportunity follow closely behind
Passion returns with a change in heart
And new ideas take root with a change of mind

When change calls, there is a reason
Embrace the moment and the new road ahead
Change is not an omen of your destruction
It is the beginning of the promise that lies just ahead

Ahh, yes... the old "resistance to change" factor in life. I know it well. Wonderfully written, thanks!
