When My Child Embarrassed Me

My child has embarrassed me a few times. He is two years old and is a lovable child but whenever we are in public together he always does something that embarrasses me. The place that we go together the most is the grocery store.

My son tends to attract a large crowd because he is so outgoing. He smiles, waves, and says hi to everyone in the store. Now, he loves to go to the grocery store because he can get his hands on everything that I put into my shopping cart.

One day, we were at the grocery store shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. The grocery store was so packed that the local police had to direct traffic in and out of the grocery store. I always take a calculator to total up how much money I am spending as I am doing my grocery shopping. I am constantly scanning prices and seeing what is on sale so usually if I am not steering the cart then I am looking at the shelves.

My son has gone grocery shopping with me so many times that he knows when to strike. We were in the prepared foods and sauces aisle when the embarrassing event took place. My son was reaching for things and suddenly I heard a huge crashing noise. The crashing noise was a huge display of gravy packets, there were so many in my cart. My son had knocked them all into my cart and everyone was staring at me. Then, my son who hates noises started screaming and crying. I was so embarrassed. I was trying to comfort my son and remove all of the gravy packets from my cart. It took me a while to do both of those things but it was a day that I will never forget.
