When to Dispose of a Disposable Razor

Your Face Will Thank You for This

Mona Loeser
Money is tight and you are trying to conserve. You've decided that you disposable razor can stay around a little while longer than usual. But come on, it's been there since Christmas. How do you know when your disposable razor needs to be disposed?

The aloe strip is white

Most disposable razors have an aloes strip in pink or blue to make the shave smoother. If it's white none is left. Time to go.

You have to stay home a ten extra minutes until the bleeding stops

If there was anything sharp left on your razor it wouldn't be cutting your face to ribbons. All those tissue dots cost money too. Dump it.

You see brown spots on the blade

That's called rust. Do you really want to shave yourself with rust? Only tin men do that. Into the trash can.

The handle is broken

I know- the blade is still good. But holding the razor between two fingers could lead to one nice slice across your face. It will cost you more to repair your face then to change the razor. Broken razors are a hazard. Send it to the garbage.

The last time you shaved it hurt

Sharp blades don't hurt. Even dull blades only hurt a little. If you could actually see your skin pulling as you shaved, times up. Out it goes.

Was it this Christmas or last Christmas that you put it in the shower?

It you can't remember how long it's been in use it's been in use too long. Toodle loo

Nothing lasts forever. But if your razor is starting to feel like it's a family pet it's been around too long. I know it's hard to part with things you love but be strong and do it. The face you save may be your own.
