Yes, it is that time again. Coming soon, daylight savings time ends. For fall, 2011. Get ready. You can't stop it. Here it comes and here is an article all about it!
On November 6, 2011, we end daylight savings time. In many places. Some are excluded and bully for them. Still, most states in the USA do observe daylight savings time. Georgia is one of them, so we will be soon falling in and falling back. One hour. On Sunday, November 6, 2011. That means that Saturday night, go ahead and set your clocks back one hour. It is best to do this. You don't want to be late, or early for church or work. Not mention any parties, family festivities or gatherings that you may have planned. Consider this your early warning.
I do love setting my clock back one hour and I enjoy this time of year. I like having more night time hours to spend. I like to sleep. I also am a bit nocturnal. I get lots of writing done during the late night hours. More hours of sleep are always welcomed by me. I do know that the daylight lovers do not like this yearly change. I sympathize with them. Less time to garden, play sports and do daylight activities and fun. More driving in the dark of night and early morning. Fortunately, I work from home, so that does not bother me.
On the bright side, there is more time to burn bonfires, roast marshmallows and sit by a campfire. Also, the nocturnal animals are more seen. That is not always a good thing, though. Watch out for early morning deer crossings. More owls will be seen this time of year and that is awesome. Their loud hooting may get on some folks nerves, though. Oh well. I like it when daylight savings time ends. I know that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I am already dreaming of roasted turkey and pumpkin pie. Yum!
Again, daylight savings time ends on November 6, 2011. Get ready. And, get out the Halloween candy, Halloween decorations, buy the turkey and prepare for pies. Lots of pies. Pecan, pumpkin, apple, sweet potato, all of those are great. And get this, it is about time to start Christmas shopping! No way! Way! Fall rolls in like big orange pumpkins and lots of bright fall leaves. Get to raking! Just kidding. We all like saving, but daylight saving is over. Until next year, at least. Happy fall, ya'll!
