When Flea Market Vendors Have to Pee at the Flea Market

Melanie L. Marten
When coffee is the only thing that will get you up and keep you going at five o'clock in the morning, chances are, you will have to pee before long. A flea market vendor's early morning set up activities include gulping down large cups of coffee. The trouble with this early morning habit is that coffee makes you have to pee. A flea market vendor's need to pee is seriously hampered by having to watch his or her table. This guide will help flea market vendors with this serious issue.

Flea Market Vendors Must Pee - The Buddy System

The number one best way to deal with your need to pee as a flea market vendor is to use the buddy system. This can work even if you could not bring anyone with you to the flea market. Upon arriving, make friends with the vendors around you. Be friendly but not pushy. Offering to buy them a cup of coffee is a great way to get aquainted.

Once you have established friendly relations with the flea market vendor next to you, it is okay to ask if they would keep an eye on your table while you run to the bathroom. Never expect this help! If they agree, the best thing to do is go fast and return to your table immediately.

Flea Market Vendors Must Pee - A Man's World

Male flea market vendors have it easy. While they cannot just pee in the middle of the flea market, there are handy little plastic urinal bottles that can help out in a pinch. All the man has to do is pop into his car for a few minutes, drape a blanket over his lap and make a few arrangements. While this may be awkward for a flea market vendor if a customer starts pounding on the window asking how much the vintage lunch box is, it works just fine when the crowds are thin.... for men.

Flea Market Vendors Must Pee - Roughing It

When female flea market vendors need to pee, their is an option other than high-tailing it up to the restrooms. If you come to the flea market in a van or truck, all you have to do is get some privacy and use a camp toilet. Trucks or vans often have windows, but these can be covered with curtains quite easily. Camp toilets, which can be as complex as a chemical commode and as basic as a bucket with a snap tight lid, are easy to use. Put on a radio or sing to mask any sounds, and take care of business.

This is hilarious! I'm a new vendor. I've been doing the flea market gig since August as a way to survive while unemployed. However my bro who has been helping is getting ready to have foot surgery and will be out for a while. If I do it alone this is my biggest problem is what to do when the urge strikes!!! Only prob for me... I may drive my CRV w/small trailer on back instead of van.... Would not be fun to pee in a CRV or very private at all.... the curtains would be an odd addition to the CRV.... and I get stage fright to begin with... Hmmmm.... but this was a chuckle....
