When Girls Lie: Four Lies that Women Tell Themselves and Guys

Jamie Brown
I'm Not Looking for a Serious Relationship

Have you ever heard a girl (usually young) say "I'm not really looking for anything serious" or "I don't want a commitment" when you're just getting to know her? Translation is: "I'm not sure that I like YOU very much, but I still want to date to see if I like you more later." If another guy comes in and sweeps her off her feet she will be all about a serious relationship, regardless of what happened in her past. Just about every sane girl wants a serious relationship. Who wants to continuously date forever. If you hear that line from a girl, then you just need to step your game up a little. With a little work, you can get her to admit the truth: that she is VERY MUCH looking for a serious relationship.

I Don't Usually Do This Type of Thing

Women are in a constant battle with themselves to appear as if they are perfect and unsullied. So when placed in a potentially compromising position, the first words uttered are usually "I don't usually do this, you know." It's usually pure BS. She's done it before, probably at least once. And if she didn't do it before, chances are she's at least thought about it! That line is just a standard female buffer to try to make you think of her as virtuous even as she's about to do something less than virginistic.

I Don't Let People In

This is another silly lie that girls tell. Girls let people in too much, which is why they are continuously getting hurt. When a girl verbalizes this, she is just trying to convince herself.

I Just Want to Play the Field

Remember when Charlotte from Sex and the City decided to try her hand at playing the field with men? She dated two guys on the same night and ended up with egg on her face. She lost both guys because they looked at her as deceptive and possibly a "ho." Now if the roles were reversed, would the guy have really lost both girls for good?

Women are not capable of playing the field the way that men are. It's a hard fact to swallow, but it's the truth. Females are so much more vulnerable to risks when dating and sleeping around with multiple men at the same time, including sexual problems and irreparable damage to their reputations. Playing the field might sound like a good idea in theory for a woman, but in practice it is a completely different story.
