When Has Easy Been a Challenge?

Seduction is a Drawn Out Gratification, Not Immediate

Donna H. Davey
One of my most viewed articles had to do with the subject of posing for playboy. Not only did I receive comments of varying opinions, but it was suggested to me that unless I saw eye to eye with several readers who disagreed with me, that I was a prude, and I just had to be jealous.

While I admit to having many old-fashioned values, of which I am proud, I must disagree with the predicatable and transparent accusations.

Here's why: Some women, myself included, pride ourselves on aesthetic modesty, or rather - mystery, which keeps the flame flickering and interest high. We don't feel the need to bare all in order to receive the shallow attention of the general public, which is fleeting and fickle. Rather, we share our natural beauty behind closed doors with the one we love, which is far more memorable and exceptional.

What could be sexier than saying to one's partner, "Honey, I'm all yours and what I've got under here is for your eyes only."

I believe that a little bit of tease is better than complete exposure, and is far more intriguing.

If you let the world in, what's left to the imagination and where's the mystery, which seduces in a far more powerful way than inviting just anyone to see what you've got?

I'm one who prefers mystification and that doesn't make me a prude, it makes me sultry because there will always be discovery.

Besides, when has easy been a challenge? I can't speak for others, but challenges are far more rewarding than the prey that lands right in your lap.

thank you, Donna! It is so great to see that some other women are holding the same 'old fashioned, prudish' values I hold, and that wasn't a slam, Donna. For me, and for my husband, there is much that is only and always to be shared between us, and honestly, in the alternative lifestyle we have chosen to participate in, often we are looked at as extremely old fashioned, lol. I don't mind one bit! Great article, and as always, food for thought.

Yes! Well I wonder if you read the recent top pick about one night stands and proper etiquette from the woman? So many that left comments applauded the article stating that a woman being casual about sex is somehow to do with women's lib. I thought that same thing when I was a TEENAGER. Now, a woman, I understand what being a "woman" is really about. Sexy is brains, self-respect, confidence, intelligence, challenge... mystery, as you say! Great article.
