When It's Time to Change Online Dating Sites

Michael Martin
There may come a point in time when you sense you've been hanging around a particular online dating site a bit too long. It kind of feels like your welcome is wearing out. When this feeling starts to churn, it's time to change online dating sites.

Stale Traffic

The number one driver for changing online dating sites is stale traffic through your profile. Stale traffic means the hits on your profile have significantly waned since your membership began. This potentially happens over time.

Proactive Tip - When initially becoming a new member, current members may see your profile as the new kid on the block. Keep this line of thinking in the back of your mind. When you start to feel like the old kid on the block, it's time to change online dating sites.

Lack of New Members

Your current online dating site may not be attracting new members at a steady, rolling pace. As time progresses, the same search results appear according to your search settings. Boredom sets in, and you start asking the question, why bother?

Proactive Tip - Don't become comfortable with any one dating site for too long. Unless the service offers free membership after a period of time or some other significant discount, keep things fresh by utilizing your time with a different site when the same profiles seem recycled.

Lagging Profiles

Depending on your area and search criteria, there could be profiles that have not logged in for several days or weeks. If you start to see this development, it could be a sign to make a change.

Proactive Tip - Don't waste your time sending emails to these members. Those members have either lost interest in the online dating scene or they have met someone new.

Losing Your Edge

If you don't log into the website after a few days, this could mean you're losing interest.

Proactive Tip - Don't lose your edge. Plenty of online dating sites have lots of members, and that someone special is out there. Choose another one and go for it. Take yourself out of that comfort zone.
