When Liberals Attack! Lady Gaga Joins the Gay Mafia

America used to be a place where different opinions and views were respected. One didn't have to agree with folks, but at least we all used to acknowledge their right to think the way they do. Now, it seems more important to make sure your view is the only one being considered. Differing opinions are often shouted down, censored, or marginalized.

Target has joined the growing list of companies and individuals that have felt the wrath and fury of the American Gay Mafia, a sinister cabal with incredible fashion sense. The attack on Target has exposed a Gay Mafia enforcer as none other than Lady Gaga, the latest "flash in the pan" in pop music. She and the Gay Mafia who will do whatever they can to make sure you agree with them, one way or another.

To understand why Target is being punished, you have to connect a bunch of dots. Target is in trouble because they dared to donate to a political group that supported a candidate that doesn't support gay marriage. For members of the Gay Mafia, there are no fence riders. You're either for them, or against them, and being against them carries serious consequences. The Gay Mafia wants nothing less than absolute devotion to their cause. Anyone who dares to think or speak against their will is branded as a bigot.

When Lady Gaga heard that Target supported a group that supported a guy that didn't support the Gay Mafia, she threw a fit. She canceled an exclusive deal that placed a deluxe version her latest CD (with extra tracks) in Target stores only. She told Billboard "Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past. Our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those groups."

Some actually argue that Lady Gaga is putting her money where her mouth is by walking away from an exclusive Target deal. Frankly, this opinion is not only missing the point, it's not true. As fewer people actually buy CDs in lieu of iTunes and other online music sites, exclusive deals like the one with Target are more for publicity than a payday. By making the CD available in more retail outlets, Lady Gaga is getting the publicity and the added sales from wider distribution.

It would be foolish to argue that Lady Gaga doesn't have the right to do whatever she wants with her CD. She absolutely does. What is disturbing is the notion that one can use their fame and influence to force others to follow their beliefs. We all have to work and deal with people we may not like or agree with. However, most of us don't force others to agree with our views and strong-arm them into doing what we want. Apparently, Lady Gaga has no problem with that. Instead of respecting the views of other Target shoppers and Target executives, she used her celebrity to get what she wanted. She bullied Target around, and has no problem with it.

For their part, Target hardly defended their right to support whomever they wanted. They folded like a cheap suit and promised to donate half a million dollars (money you and I provide to them by shopping there) to LGBT groups. It didn't matter; Lady Gaga still pulled the plug on the deal after making them an offer they couldn't refuse.

Intolerance against those you disagree with is easy when you are rich and powerful. Especially when the Gay Mafia is backing you up.
