When a Married Woman Has an Affair

In today's society, more married women are having affairs, as we sit and wonder "what is she doing", we should look at the married relationship as a whole. Gone are the days when a married couple would take time out for themselves, with work, home and children our time is spent taking care of the needs of others instead on focusing on the marriage.

Women do not look to have affairs for the same reason as men. It is not a matter of "bagging as many as they can"; women are feeling as if they do not matter at home. They are no longer being told how beautiful they are, how much they mean to their spouse or how important they are in the marriage. The days of surprise flowers, romantic dinners and going to the movies are gone. Women need to feel wanted and desired.

Most wives have desires that their husbands do not even know about, they have fantasies that they are probably not even comfortable discussing with their husbands because of the lack of communication in the marriage. When a women sets out to change her appearance she is actually calling out to her husband to take notice that she can still be attractive and desirable. The recent change in hair color, make up, and clothing are tell-tell signs that she is looking for something different in her life. She is silently saying "Hey, look at me!" She is looking to rekindle the flame that seems to be fading away.

Women will start seeking out comments from other men; this could be a co-worker, boss, the neighbors' husband, close family friend or anyone who will give them the attention they desire. It could start out very innocent, but in time, those comments will lead to casual drinks or dinner and could lead up to an affair. When a woman starts to receive complements from strangers that she is not getting from home, her self esteem will grow and so will with desire to find that something that is missing from her life.

Most married women who have affairs do not seek out single men; they will look for married men with just as much to lose as them. They are not looking for a long term relationship; they want someone to make them feel important if even for a short period. They do not want to end their marriage, they love their family. Married women are looking to fill a void do not talk about the affair not even to their closest friends. If a woman broadcast, her affair then chances are, she is looking for a way out of the marriage.
