When Other People Demand Us to Act

Recently, Rodolfo Noel "Jun" Lozada confessed in major public astonishment about the long-time issue regarding Zhong Xing Telecommunications Equipment Limited (ZTE) National Broadband Network Deal in which a new set of high ranking officials are again for so many times have been in this investigations.

Jun Lozada revealed that the $329.5 million contract with the said network is highly overpriced. Due to Lozada's confession, the anti-administration groups had risen again seeing that there is another strong reason to dethrone President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from her Presidency.

The country has experienced almost everything that is imaginable in the realm of politics -- from scandals, scams, fraud and other things that are, we could say, a sin to the nation. Now we are again confronted by issues on corruption, fraud and things, which are necessary for the one who is on power.

Everyday there are ongoing rallies determined to make GMA step down. Last Friday, 29th of February, classes were even suspended at AdeNU and even at other schools to give way for the rally. Many students participated, and many did not as well.

We ask, how do we know who is telling the truth, and who is telling otherwise? Signature campaigns have been roaming around the campus. When do we decide to make a stand and act? Should we let other people force us to sign such things? Will GMA's impeachment stop corruption in the government? Maybe. Maybe not.

As citizens of the country, we must make a choice. But we must not let others influence the choices we make. Our choice must be OUR decision.
