When Tiger Woods Talks, People Listen -- Then Tell TMZ

Accident, Affair, and Allegations: Tiger Woods Talking May Have Led to Tiger Woods' Silence

Saul Relative
There could be a very good reason that Tiger Woods has retreated into his million-dollar Windermere home and clammed up, then subsequently turned Florida authorities away -- other than attempting to keep his wife from going to jail on charges of domestic abuse for his reportedly lacerated face. It seems that just about everyone he talked to -- or around -- after the accident immediately talked to TMZ. TMZ has covered the Tiger Woods accident and alleged affair stories as if their very existence depended on the next Tiger Woods story. And it seems that there have been no scarcity of cooperative "friends" of Tiger Woods and other unnamed sources that have been willing to disclose to TMZ anything and everything they know about Tiger Woods and his current situation.

Although the internet was running wild with speculation and jokes about Tiger Woods making an early morning "booty call," especially considering the recent National Enquirer story of Woods being involved with a New York socialite, the rumor mill really began grinding out speculative musings when a "non-law enforcement type" told TMZ that Woods informally disclosed to authorities that he and his wife were engaged in an altercation prior to his car accident. The source said Tiger Woods and wife, Elin Nordegren, argued over his alleged affair(s). This source also said that Woods claimed that his wife scratched him and, when he attempted to leave, followed him down the driveway and bashed out the window of his SUV with a golf club. This had "distracted" the golfer enough to run over a hydrant and into a tree.

TMZ said they had multiple law enforcement sources and hospital sources that claim that Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods both admitted to arguing before the accident.

Then there is the friend who told TMZ that in a conversation they had with Tiger Woods shortly after the accident, Tiger Woods had said he needed "to run to Zales to get a 'Kobe Special.'" When the friend asked what he meant by a 'Kobe Special,' Woods had replied, "A house on a finger." (The 'Kobe Special' is in reference to the now famous multi-million dollar ring Kobe Bryant bought his wife shortly after a woman in Colorado had accused him of rape.)

With anyone and everyone seemingly becoming an instant conduit to TMZ, the fact that Tiger Woods has gone silent on the subject (including with law enforcement) -- except for the mea culpa for the accident he posted on his website -- might not be such a suspicious turn of events. Regardless of what he and his wife may or may not be guilty of (if anything), talking seems to have only led to their lives becoming so much tabloid (or at least TMZ) fodder. That some of their original statements might prove legally problematic in the long run could explain a good deal of the silent treatment, but potentially seeing everything one says appear in print or be broadcast to the world might make one suddenly become mute as well.

But it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for Tiger Woods. His not talking to Florida authorities, not being seen in public, and not making statements breeds rumors and speculation as well.

Tiger Woods has learned the hard way the adage that sometimes it's just best to stay at home. Perhaps if he had done that Friday morning...

It's none of our business what he did or didn't do. He did everything that is required by law. I'm glad to see that nothing else is going on in the world that needs attention and we can all wonder what happen to tiger. Give me a break people get a life.

Facts 1. The man doesnt have to report a one car accident. 2. If all the roumors are true, its his discreation to report that, not yours!

Tiger is painting himself into a corner. The State Troopers will get a warrant and his med records. His future hangs on the results of that warrant...cliffhanger :)

The rumors and speculation are running wild. I have to wonder if that would die down if Woods would just consent to a police interview? On the other hand, his legal counsel could be advising him against that. It is a baffling situation.
