When Will I Be Free?

A.M. Morgan
Tell me,

When will I be free?

Free from the snares of ethnocentrism

Free from misogynist attitudes and the necessity for human exploitation

Delivered from the apathy that steals the innocence of children

Tell me,

When we will stop fighting wars on uncommon ground

When in the land of the free and home of the brave we aren't spiritually sound

Tell me,

When the content of character will prevail

And discrimination based on race will just be a figment of an unwelcome past

Tell me,

When social status will not be a determining factor of self worth

And my human rights will never be denied

Tell me,

That a utopian society can exist,

And that a perfect world is not unrealistic

In my thoughts and words I struggle hard to believe we are all free

Because we constantly suffer from the repercussions of others civil disobedience
