When I Will Laugh Freely Again?

It's getting better, day-by-day…
And someday I will laugh freely again.
But today, I'll settle for a smile.
The tears are less, & I think God Bless!
Instead of damn him! Damn him!
I can roll some of our memories,
Over and around in my mind,
Without wanting to cry out in pain.
Yeah, it's getting better, day-by-day…
And I have so many days ahead.
If I can get through today, without crying,
Then tomorrow will be even better.
I think I could even see you face-to-face,
And still maintain my little smile,
If the visit was for just a little while.
But I look forward to the day,
When I will laugh freely again!
