Article writing for a website is very simple. One not need be Edward R. Murrow to promote their website. Thankfully, the average web surfer has the average attention span of the average surfer hanging out at the beach. Surfers tend to be scanners, and they're looking for key phrases and quick information, not to be impressed by your prose.
Also, don't sweat trying to write the best article out there to wow someone with some never be thought of idea. In the information age, it's virtually impossible to be totally unique. Every topic you could possible think about has been covered extensively by some news sources on-line, in print, and in television.
The key is to not waste time looking for new topics. Take topics that are already there. After all, every major competing newspaper in the nation is always covering the same major topics just with different writing styles and differently angled photographs.
If you need to write quickly, just do a Google search of your topic and read several different articles about it. Conclude in your mind what appears to be the most consistent information with the most specific information as opposed to generalities. Now, your goal is to take the information and inject your own comments, style, and individual personality into a summarization of your research. Even if the information is not new, if it is more clearly written, more keyword rich, and easy for the average person to understand it will separate you from the others whether your saying something new or not.
This issue is not about good writing, even. Don't expect to get an A in a college class writing a good Internet article. People think in cliches and phrases when they're looking for content on the web. A literature might look at prose and style.
For ideas, Yahoo answers will give you an idea of what people are curious about. Just check out the questions and research those.
In your research take plenty of notes to make sure that the ideas are concrete. Write an outline with some subcategories and then turn your attention away from your research and just flesh out the article based on the outline and re-read it and, if you have tend to make a lot of errors, have someone else with a fresh pair of eyes check it out. Just keep duplicating this writing process until it enters the realm of subconscious learning and you're practically on autopilot! You'll be an article writing machine!
