Where are You Lord? Where can You be ? Why do You keep Yourself hidden from me? My tears flow freely, falling like rain, Tell me o' Lord can I stand this much pain?
All of my friends, loved ones, have come and have gone. Can it be possible this hurt will go on? My back bent and weary, my brow furrowed with troubles untold. I feel so tired so used and so old.
Where did You go Lord, where can You be? Why do you keep Yourself hidden from me?
Lord when I was younger, I always believed, now now that I'm older I feel so deceived. You promised never to leave me to stay close at hand. Now I feel weary, barely able to stand. Where did You go God? Where can You be? Why do You keep Yourself hidden from me?
I gaze out my window at the bright golden sun, clouds billow , wind whispers a new day is done. Birds sing all around me, in tall, majestic, green trees. Why do You keep Yourself hidden from me? I walk through my garden, flowers abound. Rainbow colors around me, but You can't be found.
I stand in my doorway, my Love by my side we gaze at black heavens, the peace I can't hide. My children snuggle to me, my heart bursts with joy. Can it be true Lord? You never did go? You have been beside me each step of the way. Just like You told me. I went astray! I cried, and I doubted, when all of this time, You loved me and blessed me and stood by my side. You gave me precious life, Your gifts to me abound. You never did leave me, Youre always around. Where did you go Father? Oh, now I see, You have always been here, right beside me.

Thanks for your ocmments. I love hearing from you all and your feedback is invaluable.
OK, so maybe I'm a bit prejudiced about this one, but I think it pretty well sums up how someone who thought they had lost God discovered He's been there all along. Even the most faithful believers sometimes have doubts.
