Where have all the bees gone that used to buzz around my head?
It is so odd to not have them buzzing around the flowerbed.
Even the mud dobbers, yellow jackets and hornets are gone.
This really makes me wonder what human kind has done.
Some say it is the microwaves flowing through the air.
Others say it is the cell phones, which we use with great care.
Whatever is causing all the bees to fly away,
We need to do something about, not tomorrow, but today.
Crops are failing, gardens are hurting, and the birds are becoming few.
I do not think it is the heat or the lack of any dew.
Flowers do not stay bloomed as long as they used to do.
Whatever happened to all those bees that we are so used to?
Adults have lost their childhood, and the times running from these foes.
What will become of mankind if all the bees do go?
Will dragonflies take their place or katydids instead?
Will this burden become that of the butterflies? Oh such dread.
Scientists are diligently striving to come up with a clue.
If all the bees leave us soon, whatever should we do?
My only solution is to plant what they like and keep some cool water for those bees.
Once they come back, leave them alone, and run for the trees.

Post a CommentVery thought provoking piece !!
Yes I do like nature, and enjoy drawing and painting it. If I had a good and working camera I would be taking pictures of everything. I keep having to use disposable cameras and wait for them to be developed. Thus, it is quicker to find a similar creature/plant online and post it with the poems.
An enjoyable poem. I've seen quite a few this summer up here in Spokane, so there are some alive still!
You obviously a nature lover. You have a pure heart of Gold. Nice tribute to your friend.
Wonderful poem!
I hope Carol sees this one!
Away from me, I hope, because I'm deathly allergic. Great poem, though.
