Where to Buy Cheap Undergarments

In these tough economic times, I have to ask, who are these people still paying $80 for their underwear? Victoria Secret, the largest American lingerie retailer reported sales that surpassed $5 billion dollars in 2006! (According to their parent company Limited Brand's 2006 financial reports). While a pair of underwear does not cost as much as $80 at Victoria Secret, (and they have frequent online and in store sales) lines such as the celebrity favorite Agent Provocateur average in the low $100 range for their bras. Now unless you are an exotic dancer or work in fields were you are frequently walking around in your undergarments, and aside from special occasions, who needs underwear this expensive?

Not to sound crude, but considering where you undergarments spent most of their time (particularly the ever popular thong) I can not personally condone paying so much for something very few people will ever even see. So where can you get these items for a decent price? Well there are several places I tend to look: As far as the internet Forever 21 tends to have incredibly low priced items (we are talking under $5 for a pair of underwear) and they even have $1.50 sales on many occasions. As I mentioned above Victoria Secret also often has online sales such as 5 pairs of underwear for $25 which is a good deal considering their typical prices. When it comes to undergarments, unless you are plus size it is often cheaper to shop in teeny bopper stores since the sizing is often similar and the prices much lower, yet you can get some very nice looking matching pairs. At the same token, most department stores such as Macy's have large sales racks arranged by size (although frequently you will find items located in the wrong rack) as well as Burlington Coat Factory. Although I have never personally done so, they sell all items including undergarments new and unused in bulk amounts on e-bay. Often this includes name brands including Victoria Secret.

For something located in an area that is oft described as "where the sun doesn't shine" it does not make economic or tactical sense to splurge on anything like this. Even if you follow the gentle cycle wash recommendations to the T, an item that need frequent and through washing like this is going to hold up less than say a pair of jeans or shoes.

Victoria's Secret was started in San Francisco, California in 1977 by Stanford Graduate School of Business alumnus Roy Raymond,[3] who felt embarrassed trying to purchase lingerie for his wife in a public and awkward department store environment.
