Where to Buy College Textbooks

Philippa Lane
Do you have all your textbooks ready for school?

You are about to embark on a journey of the textbook hunt!

Sometimes going to college is somewhat of a challenge, because most textbooks can be very expensive. I have found some of the best places to purchase new and used college textbooks at amazingly low prices.

One of the places that I found is Amazon.com. On Amazon.com you will find many textbooks to choose from at reasonably low prices. Simply go to Amazon.com and in the search box type in the name of the textbook that you are looking for. There you should find a vast assortment to choose from. Some are new and some are used. You might find just what you are looking for.

The next place to find bargain textbooks is on Ebay.com. Ebay is a great place to browse and purchase textbooks. Some are listed for a fixed price and others are for auction. Either way I know that you will find a bargain on Ebay.

Another good place to find new and used textbooks is on half.com. There is a great variety of textbooks listed on half.com at incredibly low prices. Some are used, like new, or brand new. Half.com has excellent prices and a great variety of textbooks to choose from.

Craigslist is also a wonderful place to purchase textbooks. Many people have textbooks that they have already used for school and they need to sell them or sometimes give them away in the free section. I like the word free don't you? Look up the state and city closest to you and then type in the name of the textbook that you are looking for. Someone may have posted the exact textbook that you need. Try posting an ad in the wanted section and write in a request for the textbook that you are looking for. Someone that takes a look at your request may have the textbook that you are looking for and may be willing to sell it or give it to you.

Also, look on the bulletin boards at your school. Sometimes students post textbooks that they have already used for one semester and they do not need it anymore and they want to sell it. Just respond to the bulletin posting that is offering what you are looking for. You can also find a real bargain this way and possibly make a new friend at school.

Alas, if you still could not find the right textbook in time for your class, sometimes a student will stand outside the class that you are taking and offer to sell you their book. If the offer is good and it is for a reasonable price to you, buy it.

Just do not give up. You do not have to always pay full price for a textbook. I hope the methods and places that I had mentioned will help you in your hunt for college textbooks.

Also another good place is bigwords.com. I've been using it for 3 semesters now and love how fast and easy it is. It does all of the work for you by searching for the cheapest possible combinations of books and shipping from a multitude of sites including half.com. Just this semester I was able to save $337! I would recommend this site to anyone trying to save money on their college textbooks.
