Where to Buy and Sell Antique Radios

Antique Radios-Remembering the Golden Age of Radio

Beth Inman
How much fun is this? Antique radios. "I remember that one" doesn't that make you feel old? My husband loves antique clocks and radios. He loves the nostalgia, the memories each one evokes in him. But then, isn't that why vintage items are so collectable? We all love the nostalgia that these items bring. The special feelings and memories we get. Memories that perhaps make you feel young again. Even if for a fleeting moment.

Antique radios are in a special category. These are a few of my favorite sites; both for the information and the products they offer.

Antique Radios -The Collectors Resource

This is a great source of information.

This website is an endless source of information. They have a Forum, for questions and answers. They have a Resource section that lists hundreds of sites for information. There are tons of historical articles in the features section. There is a cool photo gallery, a list of Antique Radio Clubs for the really serious radio collector. They have a classified section for both buying and selling antique radios. One of the coolest features of this site, I think, is the Vintage Radio program section. Here you can listen to radio shows from the Golden Age. A very helpful feature on this site is the buyer's guide. Select the manufacturer and enter the model number for the current value of your antique radio. Buy or sell at the correct price.

The Knightsbridge Antique Mall

42305 7 Mile Rd, Northville, Michigan, 48167
248-344-7200Knightsbridge is a local shop here in Michigan that caters to the antique radio collector. They identify antique radios as "radios of 50 years age or more ...generally manufactured using valves although some of the very early examples of transistor radios are also regarded as antique." They do not have a website and their inventory varies based on merchandise availability. You can reach tem via telephone or mail with any questions.
