If your like most people, then you probably have unwanted belongings in and around your home, office or garage. One person's trash is another person's treasure is the saying isn't it? People have been selling and trading their stuff online over the past few years. It has grown into a huge business where millions of people are exchanging billions of dollars buying and selling their new and used unwanted items from home.

Of course, mostly everyone has heard of Ebay.com. That is the number one online marketplace to buy and sell through out the world. Did you know more and more websites are becoming available that do the same thing and some of them without all the fees. There are so many newer selling websites that it would take you an entire day to just check them all out.

If you want to get your items in front of the widest audience, then Ebay is the place. They have small fees for listing and final value selling price, but you have probably the best chance to have a successful transaction. Some of the other marketplaces which are also recommended and can have a positive experience selling your items are Bonanzle.com, which is an online garage sale site with a small amount of sellers. The cool part is you get to negotiate with the other person via instant messaging. So, its like your at the bargaining table working out a deal for whatever is up for sale. That cancels out the waiting for a certain auction to end or the waiting to receive an answer to a question about a particular item for sale.

Dealitlive.com is almost the same concept, but you wheel and deal via a live webcam. You can see the other person's reaction to your offers and counteroffers. You can show off your merchandise for sale and explain the features about, kind of like being on your own commercial on television. You can explain how to use the item and point out any scratches or defects if necessary. This website isn't entirely available to everyone just yet, but you can get the idea of the technology and the future of online buying and selling.

Half.com is a dedicated website used for specifically buying and selling books, movies, CD's and video games. It cuts out the time sifting through unwanted merchandise. The focus is on just new and used media and games. Buymytronics.com is almost the same concept and includes new, used and even broken electronics. People buy and sell iPods, cell phones and gaming consoles on this site.

You can buy or sell your stuff locally cutting out the shipping costs, listing fees and final value fees. Craigslist.com is a free site that separates the cities and towns people live so you can deal with someone around your area. If there is a large item such as a car for sale, you cut out shipping and most likely it is a short drive to take a look at it. Kijiji.com is the same concept keeping thing local and both of these widely used sites are free and well organized. Be careful of scams which are hard to eliminate, but easy to pass on by just deleting and not responding to them.
