Charleston, South Carolina is far from a winter wonderland during the holiday season, but the lowcountry does not disappoint in its offerings of Southern holiday traditions. A variety of stores offer ornaments that evoke those Southern traditions or convey other unique messages.

Holiday Stores
Santa's Attic and The Incredible Gift Shoppe
Part of the Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park, these shops located in Santa's Village offer a variety of special ornaments and holiday decorations. Personalized ornaments are also available. The Festival of Lights is open until January 3rd and costs $10 per carload. You must pay admission to the festival to visit the shops.

A Charleston Christmas
Located at 112 N. Market St., this store offers a variety of Christmas ornaments and decorations that help bring a Southern feel to your holidays.

Christmas on the Market
Located at 63 S. Market St., a variety of unique, special Christmas ornaments are offered. After leaving this store, take a walk through the open air market and view what ornaments the different vendors have to offer.

Hundreds of talented artists and craftsmen offer one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. Occurs yearly around the 20th of November.

Christmas at Tea Farm Cottage
Located in Summerville, SC, this is a one-day craft show on November 28, 2009. Vintage and antique Christmas ornaments will be sold.

Christmas Made in the South Craft Show
An annual craft show provides hundreds of talented artists and craftsmen. Occurs annually in December at the Exchange Park off Highway 78 in Ladson, SC.

If you're looking for something unique to the city of Charleston, a variety of options are available.
The city of Charleston also offers a yearly Christmas ornament that can be purchased online. The proceeds benefit children of Charleston with Cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
