Where to Get a Christmas Tree in Central New Jersey

Many people will argue how far south/north Central NJ is, but having lived in both somerset and Monmouth counties, I firmly believe it extend from toms river to about the somerset/morris county border and as far west as the flemington area.

Hunterdon County

Some of hunterdon county is so far out there it's nearly PA, but Flemington is still fairly central and the Cherryville Farms is a great place to go X-mas tree shopping. You can cut your own or have one of the employees cut it for you. The farm also sells wreaths, crafts, and refreshments from 9 am- dark on Saturdays and Sundays beginning November 28, 2009. The farm has both firs and spruces of various types and can be found 1 mile east of Quakertown on Route 616 (Quakertown Road) . The exact address is 14 Joe Ent Road, Flemington, NJ 08822 or you can call them at 908-806-4580 if your GPS can't get you there.

Mercer County

The McLaughlin Christmas Tree Farm located in Robbinsville right next to Hamilton. They are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm from Thanksgiving until Christmas. Other times are available upon request and with an appointment. The prices are based on the height of the tree and are as follows: up to 6 feet: $45, 6-7 feet $55, 7-8 $60, 8-9 $70 and anything 9 feet and over is $80. There is an additional $10 fee for trees that are Norway, Blue, or Serbian Spruces. The farm is family/kid friendly and offers complimentary services such as coloring books and candy canes for children. They also sell homemade wreaths, garland, and tree stands. The farm has been in operation since 1991 and is family owned and operated with over 10,000 evergreen trees under cultivation. Middlesex County

Barclay's NJ Christmas Tree Farm in Cranbury, NJ is just 5 minutes from the NJ Turnpike exit 8A. All trees up to 9 feet are just $40 which is a bargain and anything over 9 feet in $60. They are open Saturday and Sunday from Thanksgiving until Christmas from 9 am-5 pm and dogs on leashes are acceptable on the grounds. You may e-mail them at info@barclaystreefarm.com they sell Douglas firs, Fraser firs, Norway and blue spruces as well as Christmas wreaths, and tree stands. The farm provides saws, ropes, netting, and offer assistance with carrying, loading, and tying down the trees.

Monmouth County

Patterson Greenhouses, 524/Adelphia-Farmindgale Road, 732-431-5271 is a family owned and operated farm selling Christmas trees since 1997. They are open seven days a week. pattersonghs@aol.com.

Somerset County

Bunker Hill Road Tree Farm located in Franklin Township right on the border of Middlesex and Somerset county. Open 9 am to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays started three weeks before Christmas. 732-306-4265. They have firs and spruces as well as large precut premium Fraser firs, grave blankets, and wreaths.
