First, I will give a quick review of the fast-food restaurants of Bowling Green. Most people know what they're getting when they go to a fast food restaurant, greasy but good, cheap food. My only real warning is to be careful when eating at any fast-food place on the 31-Bypass because every restaurant on that road has been around for awhile and is not exactly in terrific shape. The only recommendation I have for you is Culver's(next to Greenwood High School on Scottsville Road), which you may not of heard of because it is on the edge of town. But it is a relatively new restaurant(means it's fairly clean) and it has a wide range of food (burgers, hot/corn dogs, ice cream sundaes) that they offer, all of which is very good(and unhealthy). The prices are very good even for fast-food standards. Their combo meals start at $2.99.
As for the sit-down restaurants, by far my favorite value restaurant is Cracker Barrel. I won't go into the reasons why because just about everyone has been there at least once. I will say this: Try the chicken-fried chicken, you won't be disappointed. Smokey Bones is also one of my favorites, mainly because they have the best pulled-pork and barbecue sauce in town. Also, it may seem weird but get their doughnuts for dessert (trust me on this one). The prices aren't cheap-cheap but one person can get out with a meal for about 10 bucks or so.
My favorite value restaurant would probably have to be Moe's. It's cheaper than Cracker Barrel and the wait is never more than 5 minutes to get a table. If you never have been, it's a Southwest Grille restaurant where they serve you in a cafeteria line. The nachos and burritos are by far the best two things on the menu(thanks to the queso dip). The restaurant is small so it is easily missed by many but look for it on Scottsville Road amongst all the car dealerships and nearby Rafferty's. The meal is just the right portions and the prices are all under 6 bucks.
There are of course many, many, many other places to eat in the restaurant capital of the south but these are my favorites at very reasonable prices.

Post a CommentIf Moe's is gay then I must be a gay. As gay as a TV marketing executive.
And anyone who insults Cracker Barrell is also as gay as a TV marketing executive.
First of all Moe's is gay. It's expensive (for what you get) and the beef is dry and old and their chicken is pink in the center. Also, everytime I have been in ther I feel like I am in San Francisco and all the gay people are out and about (literally).
Cracker Barrel is by far the best restaurant in town and beats everything in BG. It has the best food and when you are done eating you can buy a birdhouse or a rocking chair or perhaps a white sweatshirt with a kitten on it for your granny. Where else in BG can you eat and then buy crafts except a church pot luck?
