McCormick & Schmick's Uptown, is located in the Galleria area at 1151 Uptown Park Boulevard. This is where we ate our Christmas dinner last year and it was excellent! We called for reservations pretty late, so it was a surprise to us that we weren't stuck in a corner somewhere. They were also out of the type of steak two of us wanted, but they substituted a higher priced filet at the same price. My brother and his wife had seafood and were very pleased with its preparation and fresh quality. Highly recommended. Call them for reservations at (713) 840-7900. They are open from 11 am to 8 pm on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day and will be serving their full menu, which features such delicious choices as Fresh Alaskan King Crab Legs, Catfish from Palacios TX, Wild Sea Scallops from New Bedford MA, and they will also be serving prime rib and honey baked ham specials. Save room for a delicious dessert.
The Houston Marriott Westchase is located on 2900 Briarpark near Westheimer in the Westchase section of Houston. We went to their Thanksgiving Buffet this year and it was superb. Their Christmas Buffet will be just as good with prime rib, turkey, ham, seafood, lots of side dishes, pastries and desserts, Domaine Ste. Michelle champagne and/or your choice of soft drinks or coffee. Call (713) 978-7400 early for prices and reservations The Sugar Land Marriott Town Square has a similar buffet and might be closer if you are staying in the Sugar Land area. They are located at 1060 City Walk, Sugar Land, TX. Call (281) 275-8400 for reservations. If you want to stay overnight, be sure to ask about special packages, otherwise just bring a big appetite.
Brady's Landing will be open Christmas Day from 10 to 5 pm. They offer a Christmas Champagne Brunch with just about everything your heart could desire: a salad bar, cold seafood station, and a kid's buffet with some of the goodies kids like to eat even on holidays, like chicken tenders and macaroni. They'll be serving many hot items, roast beef, ham. catfish dishes, venison and too many other excellent dishes to be believed. That's not all--you might decide to stop by the made-to-order station for an omelet made just for you or choose from a variety of made-to-order Belgian waffles. I've been to Brady's at Christmas and enjoyed everything I was able to eat, the rustic ambience, the view of the ship channel and most of all, the cherries jubilee! Brady's Landing is located in the heart of Houston, at the turning basin of the Port of Houston Ship Channel. Call (713) 928-9921 to make your reservation. They also offer discounts for seniors and children.
If you want to eat at home, but don't want to cook, Logan Farms offers some really mouth-watering choices. You can get a half or whole spiral sliced honey-glazed spiral ham or spiral sliced honey-glazed turkey breast. Want a full bird? At Logan Farms, you've got your choice of Hickory-smoked or Cajun-spiced turkey ( my family's favorite). Not in the mood for turkey or ham again so soon after Thanksgiving? They've also got a Texas smoked brisket, center cut filet mignon and St. Louis style pork ribs. They have 3 locations in Houston, as well as other locations in Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia. Their stores are quite crowded around the holidays, but you can order online at Logan Farms Online for yourself or to send someone else a scrumptious gift.
After Christmas, if you want to try something a little different, dine at Bistro LeCep. This French country style eatery is located on Westheimer near the corner of Wilcrest Drive. They offer special events all year long but are actually closed at Christmas. Nevertheless, their Sunday specials are a great value. We took a friend here who was quite impressed and said he was going to bring his boss to Bistro LeCep. On most Sundays, they offer a 3 course family dinner where you can pick one appetizer (now's your chance to try those escargots), main dish and dessert from the menu at a fixed price between $24-$29 per person as of December 2009.
