Where to Eat at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Autumn Skies
Chances are you will most likely get hungry riding Expedition Everest and the Kali River Rapids all day. You will probably be starving after your two-week (all right, twenty-minute) expedition on Kilimanjaro Safaris. And you are bound to be downright famished after traveling back in time 65 million years on Dinosaur (I know time travel always makes me hungry). So, without further ado, here is a guide on where to eat at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Having eaten at every restaurant at every theme park at Walt Disney World, I have an excellent feel for what visitors enjoy. And the best place to eat at Disney's Animal Kingdom - the Rainforest Café - is bound to please just about everyone. From its unique setting to its delicious dinners and desserts, the Rainforest Café is a feast for the senses. How many restaurants boast elephants and gorillas that come to life during your meal? Where else can you experience a terrible storm during dinner without getting wet? The Rainforest Café at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, offers it all. And great food to boot. From burgers to salads to steaks to ribs, the Rainforest Café delivers on taste and the prices are more than reasonable, considering the atmosphere. And for dessert, you simply must try the Volcano. It is large enough for two or more, so be sure to share. There are entrances to the Rainforest Café both inside and outside the theme park.

Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand, U.S.A. is great for a quick pick-me-up. The restaurant - okay, it's pretty much a McDonalds - offers cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers, french fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mandarin chicken salads, and veggie burgers. Unlike at some theme parks, the prices at Restaurantosaurus are quite affordable, so stop in for a bite. And don't forget the character breakfast here - Donald's Breakfastosaurus, featuring Donald Duck and friends. It is an all you can eat buffet.

If pizza is your meal of choice, you are in luck. Head over to Discovery Island and discover Pizzafari. Pizzafari offers pizzas, salads and sandwiches. All of the restaurant's dishes are very good and reasonably priced. Try to avoid Pizzafari during the lunch hour when it does become a bit crowded.

Also on Discovery Island are Safari Coffee and Flame Tree Barbeque, which offers freshly smoked barbeque ribs, chicken, and freshly tossed salads. If you simply want to munch a turkey leg or chicken wings, pay a visit to Safari Barbeque.

In Africa, you will find the Tusker House Restaurant. The Tusker House Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, including rotisserie chicken, pan-seared salmon, tossed salads, and vegetarian items. Nearby in Africa, you will also discover the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery, the Harambe Fruit Market, and Tamu Tamu Refreshments, which serves ice cream and yogurt smoothies.

In Asia, check out Mr. Kamal's, which offers chicken strips and sandwiches, as well as the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck.

Enjoy your visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom, and thanks for reading Where to Eat.
