Where to Eat in Springfield, OH

So it was a crowded Friday evening, about 6:30 when we decided last minute to go out to dinner. We tried the new restaurant in town, but it had a 2 hour wait - I was hungry and didn't want to wait that long. So we scooted down the road a little and found this place with a 25-30 minute wait for 3 people. Ok, that was doable. We walked into friendly faces and a warm entry way. It was cold and rainy, so this was welcome for sure. We were seated pretty close to 25 minutes after arrival, but it moved pretty quick. Inside, we were greeted by our waitress who was friendly and patient.

We ordered our meals - California chicken salad, roast beef au jus sandwich with steak fries, and the club sandwich. Within a few minutes our drinks were delivered along with a delicious batch of the most mouthwatering rolls I have ever eaten. Girls throw out the carb diet! OMG! These rolls were warm, kind of sweet, and amazing. I could have eaten just those and been happy. Within about 15 minutes of rolls and drinks, our meals were delivered.

My husband had the roast beef sandwich. In his best description it was tender, juicy, and definitely worth ordering again. The meat wasn't tough at all and everything tasted good. He even received extra au jus by request.

My son had the club and asked that it not be toasted (it hurts his mouth). It came, as requested, with a wonderful honey mustard sauce that this boy fell in love with. He was happy he got to take some home with his leftovers. This sandwich was big enough for a meal, or two for a smaller appetite. His broccoli and cheese casserole wasn't what he had hoped for, but tasted ok.

Mine was the salad. Oh this yummy salad. Mixed greens with strawberries, mandarin oranges, honey roasted pecans, dried cranberries, and a balsamic vinaigrette that was fabulous. It came with bleu cheese crumbles, but I asked for the on the side as I'm not a huge fan.

Our meal ended up to be $40 for three people with tax and tip. Not too bad. We will definitely go again. O'Charley's offers a great variety of steaks, salads, seafood and more. I think it is a good meal for the money and a decent atmosphere for a date, the family, or hanging out with friends. They do have a bar area as well and offer triva games to play via TV.
