Where to Eat: Walt Disney World Bakeries

Ah...vacation. Say good bye to the diet restrictions and embrace the pastry. There is no better time to indulge in all the sweet treats and decadent wonders a bakery can offer. And Walt Disney World has enough bakeries to satisfy any sweet tooth!

Main Street Bakery - MagicKingdom. To begin your day at the Main Street Bakery located towards the end of (what else?) Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom is to wake up to a magical view of Cinderella's Castle while enjoying huge gooey cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes, apple and cherry turnovers, strawberry and cappuccino milkshake smoothies and more. This bakery has long lines in the morning, but they move fast! And for those who like to pair their sweets with some savory, there are breakfast croissants available in addition to the yogurt, fruit, and pastries.

Boardwalk Bakery - Boardwalk Inn and Villas Resort. This tiny breakfast destination features doughnuts, pastries and desserts made right on site. Enjoy a Mickey shaped blueberry muffin for breakfast or an individual cheesecake or tiramisu for dessert or a snack. This is also a great place for both ready to order and custom birthday and special occasion cakes.

Starring Rolls - Disney's Hollywood Studios. Located right outside the Brown Derby restaurant in Disney's Hollywood Studios park, this counter service locations offers a large variety of cupcakes, pastries, and desserts next to their sandwiches. A great place to indulge for breakfast, the Starring Rolls is also open all day for treats with lunch and delicious sweet snacks.

Kringla Bakeri og Café - Epcot. The Norway pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot may offer up some unusual cultural foods at their table service restaurant, Akershus, but the bakery across the way has some of the sweet Norwegian snacks to enjoy. Sweet almond covered pretzels, custard filled and coconut topped school bread, strawberry rice cream, "Viking" decorated chocolate chip cookies and a veiled maiden (applesauce and whipped cream) are all available for snacking and dessert enjoyment. The bakery also offers soups and sandwiches for more savory additions.

Boulangerie Patisserie - Epcot. This gem is located towards the back of the France pavilion in World Showcase. The cases are filled with all manner of extravagant desserts featuring creams, custards, fruits and mousses. If you've ever dreamed of having French pastries at a Parisian sidewalk café, this boulangerie and the tables outside will tide you over until you can experience the real thing.

Disney Dining offers a variety of choices for meals, snacks and treats. And bakeries are no exception. On your next vacation, plan to visit a few of these delectable locations to enjoy some of the best baked goods Walt Disney World has to offer.
