Where to Find Art Supplies in Dallas, Texas

BS
Art supplies can be found at basically every grocery store or drug store, but the good art supplies are a little bit tougher to find. There are lots of chain craft stores such as Michael's and Hobby Lobby, but those can often be out of what you need or not even carry it at all. The major chains of craftstores are obviously the most popular, so it should not come as a surprise when the store runs out of what you need. If you're in the Dallas area, here are some great art supply stores to make sure what you need is always available.

Ansel Art Supply

2701 Cedar Springs Rd.

Dallas, TX 75201

The address listed above is just one of the locations of Ansel Art Supply, they are a chain store so they have many other locations. Ansel Art Supply provides everything an artist would need. Painters, drawers, photographers, and more can find everything they need at Ansel Art Supply. You can also order online if you do not want to make the trip to the store, which is very convenient. Ansel Art Supply is opened from 8:30am to 6pm Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 1pm to 5pm Sunday.

A & L Arts and Crafts

5303 Bryant St. Unit 8

Dallas, TX 75026

The greatest thing about this art supply store is that it is opened twenty four hours a day and seven days a week, so if you happen to have a burst of inspiration in the middle of the night but no supplies, you'll be okay. They have a great selection of art supplies, so you can find almost anything you want. On the negative side, the primary language spoken at this art supply store is Spanish, so it may be a little hard to find what you're looking for if you don't already know where it is.

Aaron Brothers

5360 W Lovers Ln #208

Dallas, TX 75209

This store is also a chain art supply store, so this is just the address for their location in Dallas, you should not have a problem finding one that is closer to you if you live outside of Dallas. Aaron Brothers also does framing, so if you need some art supplies and something framed, this is the place to go. They also have a lot of sales and specials going on throughout the year, so you can get some really good deals on your art supplies. The downside to this store is that it can be a little bit pricey, but that's what the sales and specials are for.

Art Dallas Incorporated

2325 Valdina St.

Dallas, TX 75207

This is a great store for art supplies, but it also has many other services available to artists. They do framing for your artwork, or for photographs, or anything else that you need framed. They also do art consults, which can be a very big help to artists, especially beginning ones. The hours are not very convenient for people who have jobs though, they are closed on both Saturday and Sunday. Art Dallas Incorporated is opened from 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

The Dallas area is full of resources for artists, if you cannot find something at one of your local art supplies stores, simply do a little research and it should not be hard to find what you're looking for. Many of the art supplies stores also offer art classes in many different mediums, so if that is something you're interested in, it shouldn't be too hard to find something that you think could be interesting and help develop your artistic skill.

My husband and I are artists, and we live in Dallas county. This list is very helpful. However, just a technical note: it's Asel Art Supply, not Ansel. Nice article.
