Where to Find the Best Burgers in Jackson, Michigan

The Best Three Restaurants in Jackson, Michigan, for Their Burgers

Kristen Wilkerson
Juicy, meaty, cheesy, and warm are only a few descriptors of the ultimate burger. While fast food restaurants sell quick versions of greasy burgers, they do not compare with a tasty, old-fashioned, freshly grilled burger. Burgers may not be the healthiest of foods, but they epitomize American tradition.

There are three good restaurants in Jackson County, Michigan, which offer the best burgers. To keep the search quick, guests can't go wrong with either of these three. Yet, each features its own ambiance and variety of sandwiches. Read on to learn more about these restaurants and narrow down your search for the best burger in southern Michigan.

Schlenker's Sandwich Shop

As far as local to Jackson goes, Schlenker's has a long history in burgers. Walking into the small sandwich shop reminds guests of old fashioned malt shop style eating. Seating involves a long counter top with 14 bar stools surround it and two outdoor picnic tables. There isn't room for any more, as the tiny place is filled with charm, people, and kitchen.

The burgers, though, are what make Schlenker's famous. Their menu features their single burger or double burger prepared how you like it. Many people like the relish and mustard concoction on their burger, while others prefer the deluxe mayo, lettuce, and tomato variety. The burgers are prepared fresh, and that makes them extra tasty. A variety of side dishes compliment the menu along with some pie and a few other sandwich choices.

Established in 1927, Schlenker's has made itself home in Jackson, Michigan, for 83 years. It is still going strong, earning the "Best of Jackson" awards three times in the last few years.

Schlenker's is located at 1104 E. Ganson Street, Jackson, Michigan, and their phone number is (517) 783-1667. The sandwich shop is located in close proximity to the Allegiance Health hospital. If you have never tried Schlenker's, it is worth the visit!

The Hunt Club

If old fashioned does not suit your palette and you are looking for more of a bar and pub atmosphere, then The Hunt Club is a perfect place to find a juicy burger for dinner. Made to order, the Hunt Club is known around Jackson for its delicious burgers and friendly atmosphere. Attached to the main restaurant is an arcade for kids as well as a bar for more of an adult evening handout. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is fun as well. Big portion sizes correspond with the prices, making The Hunt Club a good choice for a burger.

The Hunt Club is located at 1514 Daniel Rd., Jackson, Michigan. Their phone number is (517) 782-0375. The Hunt Club is located near Westwood Mall, which makes a convenient location after a day of shopping.

Outback

While a national chain, the seasoning and preparation that Outback puts into its burgers makes it worth mentioning on this list. The variety of burgers is also nice, since customers can specialize the flavors with BBQ, bacon, cheeses, and the like. Seating is plentiful, and the name alone sheds light on the restaurant's popularity.

Outback Steakhouse is located at 1501 Boardman Rd, Jackson, MI, and their phone number is (517) 784-7700.

Whether grilling your own burger at home or finding a gem of a burger joint around town, there is nothing quite like a juicy burger sided with a plate of fries and a cold beverage.
