Best Coffee House Tampa #1
I have been going to Sacred Grounds for a long time. This coffee house is probably as close to a traditional late night, beatnik coffee house as you can get. They are only open in the evenings and stay open until late at night or early in the morning. The walls are all painted different colors and there is plenty of seating in an arrangement of couches and chairs. There are also a couple of small rooms that have games and books. Sacred Grounds is the perfect place to go if you want to hang out with friends and chat, play games or read. This coffee house also hosts music events and occasionally has workshops. The entire coffee house has a very friendly, open, new age vibe. The menu has a fantastic collection of teas, shakes, and coffee selections including a wide array of unique flavored drinks with creative names. The prices tend to run a little higher than other coffee houses. I would expect to pay about $5-$10 for a drink at this location. However, the price is sometimes worth it when you can go and have such a good time with your friends in such a great atmosphere.

When I want something that is more like a main stream brand I love to go to Indigo Coffee. There is a location in Hyde Park Village in South Tampa. This is an independent coffee house that has your standard tea and coffee selections along with a case of pastries and sandwiches. The inside of this coffee house is not as great to hang out in, but the Hyde Park Village has a nice big fountain court yard which makes the perfect location for sipping a latte. The price here runs around $3-$5.
Best Coffee House Tampa #3
I realize that this is really a restaurant, but some nights I love to go to Bella's Italian Cafe for a cappuccino. The coffee is fantastic and it is served with this sweet little ginger cookie. This is a nice hip little restaurant that has a modern romantic feel. So, even though its more than just coffee it still has that swanky feeling that makes you want to sit and chat a while. The price here runs around $3-$5.
Best Coffee House Tampa #4
The best Starbucks location is the one on South Howard. I love to walk down there to get my Starbucks drinks whenever I feel like I just need something average. An additional benefit of this location is that its open 24 hours. It is even open on most holidays! This location is about standard size inside, but has one of the best outdoor seating area of any Starbucks in Tampa. The price here runs around $3-$5.
