Where to Find the Best Free Printable Christmas Cards

Sandra Essary
There's no reason to spend money on Christmas cards, not when you can download and print them for free. One thing that's nice about these free printable Christmas cards is that you don't have to send the same card to everyone. For example, if there are animal lovers on your Christmas list, send them a puppy or kitty card. If there are religious people on your list, send them a nativity scene Christmas card. If there are weird people on your list, well, they may not know if they got a Christmas card or not.

These printable Christmas cards are entirely free with nothing to join. All you need is some decent heavy card-type paper stock, envelopes, and of course, a printer.

1. Greetings Island Christmas Cards

Greetings Island Christmas Cards? Sounds like Santa is in the Bahamas and everyone has to go and meet him there for Christmas. Oh, excuse me, I'm just dreaming.

Now that I'm awake, I can tell you that this is an excellent website for creating free printable Christmas cards. Although there are only 9 full-color Christmas cards from which to choose, they vary enough that practically anybody can find a good card here. If you have a dog or cat, you might like a couple of these cards. Additionally, there are Santa's presents, Santa snowboarding, Christmas tree, and fun moose Christmas cards. Love the design tool they have here!

2. Family Shopping Bag Christmas Cards

This website gives us five full-color duo-fold free printable Christmas cards. The cards include a candy cane, gift package, sleigh, tree, and snowman. All of them say "Happy Holidays" at the top. Two printable Christmas envelopes are also here. One has designs on the envelope that will match the tree, gift, and sleigh Christmas cards. The other has a horn as well as a cute reindeer with Christmas lights on his antlers and a star on his head. This poor reindeer must have had an encounter with a frenzied person who decorates everything they see. You know the type.

3. Hello Kids Christmas Cards

These ten Christmas cards are colorable and perfect for kids who want to give or mail Christmas cards. The line drawings on these duo-fold cards are well-defined and easy to color. Santa must be goofing off this year, because one Christmas card shows him sleeping in a sleigh, while another shows Santa stuck in a chimney - upside down! My personal favorite, however, is the Christmas card with the cat twirling on the end of a Christmas stocking. Don't let my cat see that - might give him ideas!

4. Printfree Christmas Cards

I like these because they are almost photographic in quality, something adults may enjoy more than sitting around and coloring their Christmas cards. You can coordinate these free Christmas cards so that your cards, gift tags, gift wrap, and decorative print all match, and who wouldn't just die to have that? The twelve cards include an old-fashioned Santa, various Christmas trees, tree with a horse, and four religious cards.

5. HP Christmas Cards

There are so many free printable Christmas cards here it's unreal. It's real, though, so stop pinching yourself. Besides holiday photo cards, kids' cards, and contemporary Christmas cards, there are also some really great crafty Christmas cards, holiday thank you cards, and a whole lot more. There's even a fill-in letter to Santa to put a gleam in your child's eyes, something rarely seen around the holidays. Yeah, and I'm Mrs. Claus herself.

6. 123 Print Cards Christmas Cards

This website is top-notch for making any kind of card, and Christmas cards are no exception. They have 46 cute, simple, funny, and nature Christmas cards, plus cards with a photo image. Each card can be made as a short, medium-sized, or the size-meant-for-us-writers card. Additionally, you can make Christmas party invitations in the same style as your Christmas card. Scroll down the page about halfway and you will see "Free Printable Christmas Cards".

7. Mintprintables Christmas Cards

If you're into adorable baby angels, some guy with a mistletoe hat (wonder what he uses that for), or cute puppies, check out these Christmas cards. They also offer a rather elegant holly and pine branches card and a Christmas tree card.

8. DLTK Cards Christmas Cards

DLTK gives us a do-it-yourself Christmas card maker tool. You get to choose the type, image, and both inside and outside greetings. Their 33 free printable Christmas cards run the gamut from Baby Jesus, bells, and wreaths to Rudolph, Christmas trees, and Santas. How does a Blue's Clues or Sponge Bob Christmas card sound? Or a Christmas card with Santa holding a crying child on his lap? That image should comfort all those little kids out there.

9. Vintage Christmas Cards

These vintage Christmas cards display themes of flowers, poinsettias, or holly. Within those themes are a total of forty free printable Christmas cards to choose from, including old-fashioned and romantic cards. I particularly liked the vintage hot air balloon with holly, mistletoe and a "Christmas Greetings" message, because I used to fly them. The balloons, not the messages.

10. Edupics Christmas Cards

In the middle of the page are two downloadable Christmas cards. That's not a lot, but I am including it here, because this is the only place I have seen a pop-up card you can make. It takes 4 separate downloads to create the pieces for the pop-up card. The result is a Christmas card of Santa and his reindeer flying over a wintry town toward a huge snowman in the sky. Yes, you heard me right, a huge snowman in the sky. At least, that's the way the picture of it looks like here. I think someone must have been eating some "special" brownies when they designed this card. The other Christmas card here is good for both Christmas and New Year's, for those of us who get their cards out late.

There you have it, a multitude of free printable Christmas cards for your perusal. So don't delay! Get those Christmas cards printed out today!
