Where to Find Book Reviewing Jobs Online

Ashley Sinatra
Earlier I wrote the basics to becoming a book reviewer. Does it sound appealing to combine your love of writing and books? Are you willing to sacrifice pay of money for the payment of books? If so, great. Now all you need to do is find a book reviewing job. Here is a couple that I have found. If you look hard enough, you should be able to find many more. You might even be able to find some paying ones. Also, it is a good idea to check out your local newspaper or publications to see if they need any book reviewers.

Armchairinterviews.com: I worked with Armchairinterviews.com for a couple of months. I think I did a total of 5-6 books. I absolutely loved working for this site. You get to choose the categories of books you would like to review. An email is sent at least once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. In this email, there will be one to twenty books that need to be reviewed. After reading through them, you just reply back with the book you want to review. If it is still available, they will send it to you right away and you will have 30 days to review it. Both of the editors are extremely nice and will work closely with you. You do have to apply and submit a sample book review in their style. Check out this link for more information on how to apply: http://www.armchairinterviews.com/authors-place/help_book_reviewers_needed.php

Frontstreetreviews.com: I have not personally worked for them, but they look like a good site to start your book reviewing career in. They require 500+ word reviews. Right now they are strongly interested in people to review Chirstian based fiction and non-fiction, romance, and gay lit. If you are interested, go to http://www.frontstreetreviews.com and click under reviewer application. They require a sample book review as well.

Midwestbookreview.com: This is another site I have run across. However, they do not give away books or money. You can send in whatever review you want, and you still own rights to it. Which means you can get money for it somewhere else, and a byline from Midwest Book Review. It is worth checking out: http://www.midwestbookreview.com/revinfo.htm.

Those are just three book reviewing sites that need a book reviewer like you. Remember to ask if you still hold any rights to the reviews you write. If you do, you will be able to post them elsewhere for money or publicity.
