Rochester, Indiana is a small town, and the Chamber of Commerce just gave me information there are two places to pick up both Federal and State income tax forms. Those places are the Post Office and the Fulton County Library, which is local.

I believe more and more people are doing their own taxes, since it is much easier to figure them now with help from the internet and other sources. Also, I hear the forms are much easier to understand and complete.

We always take our information to a professional who offers tax services. If your taxes are simple and easy to figure and complete, it is a lot less expensive than taking them to a professional. Our taxes are probably not what most people would call complicated, but we just want to make sure they are correct. We don't want any surprises, after we think they are all taken care of.

We do have several tax professionals here, including H&R Block, and four others. We have taken our necessary documents to the same person each year for the four years we have lived here. To date, we have never had a problem with our tax returns. Our earning statements are kept safely in a folder in a desk drawer for the subject year.

What a useful article. It's that time of year again! Turbotax and other tax software is also helpful.

The library is one my favorite places, so I like to get mine there.

Good info. We always go to H&R Block...just feels safer to know we're getting everything we should.

I also use H&R Block but since I no longer have a business I may start doing my own in the next year or two.
