Where to Find and Buy a Nintendo Wii Before Christmas

Sheryl Nantus
It's the hottest game console for yet again another Christmas - and you can't find one. Again. Now you're in a desperate search for a Nintendo Wii and it's only a few days before Christmas. Where do you go, when do you go and what do you do to make sure Saint Nick has that precious Wii under the tree this year?

First, get online and start using the search engines such as Google and Yahoo to search out your target. There are a plethora of sites set up specifically to track deliveries of Nintendo Wiis across the country and if you're fast enough on the keyboard you might be able to snag one off of eBay or other online stores. At the end of this article you will find some of them listed, but use online search engines to stay updated. The problem with these sites is that they are time-sensitive and you have to literally be fast on the keys to get a Nintendo Wii to the electronic checkout counter before someone else can - but if you live in a rural area or am unable to travel it may be the best choice for you.

Another option is to go to online auction sites and bid on one of the many Nintendo Wii game consoles up for sale to the highest bidder. But be careful. Bidding on eBay or other auction sites for a Nintendo Wii has possible pitfalls, the least of which is that the game console doesn't arrive on time. There is a chance that you may end up paying for a product that the seller either doesn't have or ever will have; a criminal taking advantage of the craze right now to rip off unsuspecting consumers. If you do go to eBay or another auction site to bid on a Nintendo Wii please be careful - check the seller's credentials and see what sort of feedback has been given. If he/she has never sold anything before online nor has rather shady comments, if any, stay clear. It's much better that you pass on the auction and keep your hard-earned cash than be out hundreds of dollars and have nothing to show for it. While many auction sites have legal ways for you to retrieve your cash if an auction goes bad it's best to stay safe in the first place and not bid on any Nintendo Wii that seems too good to be true.

Failing that you need to start making friends; not with the Nintendo manufacturers, but with the staff that work at stores that carry a Nintendo Wii. Many electronic and gaming stores have staff on hand that will be able to advise you as to the exact time that a shipment will arrive, giving you a heads-up on the competition. Be warned however, the delivery times may be early in the morning or late at night, possibly resulting in you leaving work at an inopportune time. But tell your boss you're hunting down a Nintendo Wii. He'll understand. Then get bundled up and hunt down that delivery truck and be first in line at the counter.

You should try to get as many friends and family involved as you can in this search, covering as many stores as you can. If one store has a delivery coming in at six in the morning and another store across town has their Nintendo Wii delivery coming in at seven, you need to cover both bases. Use cell phones to keep everyone motivated and informed so that if you do achieve the Holy Grail of game consoles for this Christmas that you can step out of line and allow someone else to achieve that lofty goal.

Finding a Nintendo Wii in the last few days before Christmas may seem impossible, but if Santa Claus can visit all those houses on one night it may just be possible for you to tuck a Nintendo Wii under the tree this year. Using a little online and offline hunting skills you may be able to gloat when you walk into the office the day after Christmas by announcing that you have a Nintendo Wii!
