Where to Find Cheap Books Online

Dee Jones
Thanks to the internet, there's no shortage of things to read. Type the right words into the right search engine, and you can find free novels, free nonfiction e-books, free short stories, free articles, and free poetry, all posted online for your enjoyment.

Still, there are times when there's nothing quite like holding an actual book in your hands. But, if you're an avid reader, you know how expensive actual, printed books can be.

Luckily, you can use the internet to find cheap books that cost a fraction of what they'd cost at a bookstore. And here's how you can find them.

Find cheap books at Amazon.com.

When you look up a book at Amazon.com, you'll see the regular retail price, and Amazons discount price. And, somewhere on the same page, you'll find the same book for as much as fifty or seventy-five percent less. I've even seen some of these cheap books listed at Amazon.com for as little as a penny.

Independent vendors (who can be discount bookstores, or individuals who just have a lot of books to get rid of, and want to make a small profit in the process) sell books through Amazon.com at discount prices. These cheap books are a great deal, even with the shipping and handling charge of $3.99 per book. But, remember, when buying from these vendors, you're not really dealing with Amazon, but with the vendor. They are the ones responsible for the shipping and condition of your order.

Before buying cheap books from one of these vendors, read the feedback left by there customers. That way, you'll be able to see not most buyers were satisfied or disappointed after dealing with them.

Find cheap books at HalfBooks.com.

HalfBooks.com, which is affiliated with EBay, is another great place to find cheap books online.

As with Amazon.com, independent vendors sell cheap books through HalfBooks.com. You can find cheap books for as little as seventy-five cents each, including shipping and handling. (Which is $3.49 for paperbacks, $3.99 for hardbacks.) And, when you buy more than one book from a particular vendor, you get a break on the shipping and handling.

Again, when buying cheap books from a vendor, read the feedback left by their customers, even if it's a vendor you've dealt with before. You may have had a good experience with a vendor in the past, and may have read great feedback about them two or three months ago. But things can change fast, and reading current feedback will let you know if they have.

Thanks to the internet, finding cheap books from the comfort of your own home has never been easier.

Great article! I use a website that searches Amazon.com, Half.com, Barnes & Noble, AbeBooks.com, etc. and returns you the lowest Internet Worldwide book price. I use them for my college textbooks and whenever I just need a book in general. The website is SmartBookFinder.com, http://www.smartbookfinder.com. Check it you if you want to save some money on your books. I know I sure have!

The best place to buy books would be to go to the site www.valorebooks.com and use the discount coupon:cheap100

This coupon will save $$ besides the cheap prices already displayed by the bookstore. International editions are equally good books with the same content, but extremely low prices.
So, go to www.valorebooks.com and use the coupon:cheap100
when you buy or sell books to them. Best deal ever!Way cheaper compared to amazon or half in most cases.

This is a great reminder as college students (Freshmen included) prepare to go back to school.
