FreeCycle
The first place you should try is FreeCycle.org. This is where people in your area post items that they no longer need for free. Keep an eye out for people offering changing tables or submit a wanted ad. Some parents would rather give an old changing table to someone who needs it rather than taking the time to sell it. So take advantage of this first.
Classifieds
If you cannot find a changing table for free, check to see if you can find a used one cheap in your local classifieds. Whether it is in your local paper or on Craiglist, you can usually find changing tables for $30 or less. When you contact the seller, make sure there is nothing wrong with the crib and try to negotiate a slightly lower price. All they can say is no.
Consignment Shops
No luck in your local classifieds? Try local consignment shops. Consignment shops are more expensive than buying from an individual, but you are much more likely to find what you are looking for. Look around at a few different ones, focusing on those that specialize in baby items. When you find what you are looking for at the right price, pick it up. You don't know if it will still be there in a few days.
Wal-Mart
If you are still not having any luck or just cannot stand the thought of buying used, check out Wal-Mart's selection on changing stations online. Changing tables on their website start at $60. You can save even more by using a credit card with a cash back option and choosing site to store shipping which is free.Since a changing table is not necessary, it just makes since to find one cheap. Check out these options and see how cheap you can find a changing station. Then enjoy the convenience that it provides once your child has arrived.
