Where to Find Cheap Gas

Andrew Ng
Sick of finding out that the gas price is cheaper two blocks down from where you just put gas? If you own a computer and have access to the internet, there are plenty of websites that help you find cheaper gas prices. One site is http://gasprices.mapquest.com/ which is a site that you may have used to before to get directions. Now it can get you directions and cheaper gas. Step one to using MapQuest to find you cheaper gas is to type in your address then look through the list. The list will have every gas station price near by the address you put in. The problem with this site is that it is not always accurate.

Another site you may use is http://gasbuddy.com/. Once again you type in your address and a list of gas price locations pop up with the price. The problem is once again the prices are not always accurate because people report the prices they find to the site. So you may not be getting the price you listed but you should be getting cheap gas. Gas price watch is another site that tells you gas prices it works the same and the prices are sent in by people too. The difference with this site is it tells you how old the prices are. Green means that it was last updated 12 hours or less, orange means 24 hours or less, and red for 24 hours or more. For those who want to look gas prices on the go to find cheap gas when they are traveling, there is an alternative.

If you have a portable navigation or are in the market for one, new portable navigations have that built into them, the problem with that is that you would have to spend money on a subscription fee. MSN Direct charges fifty dollars a year for the service but it also comes with movie ticket times and weather. If you do not want to spend that type of money and if you have a decent cell phone you could look it up on there for a fee. Beware older cell phones may not be able to load the sites that tell you where cheaper gas is. Newer phones should be able to handle it so if your phone is 2009 or newer and is not a basic phone you should be fine to go on those sites listed above to find cheap gas.

Another alternative is if you are buying a new car, newer cars do have that option if you get the navigation. One car company that has that feature is BMW but that is only on cars that are 2010 and newer. So if you are looking at ways to find cheap gas there are many options but the problem is with most of them is how true the price are, you may be getting cheap gas but not as cheap of gas as you want it to be. So, do not get your hopes for reading that gas at one gas station is $2.95 and get disappointed when it is still cheap but not $2.95.
