Where to Find Free Halloween Poser Models, Backgrounds, and Textures

Who doesn't like spooky pictures around Halloween? Well, maybe a few people don't, but if you're like me and enjoy getting into the Halloween spirit and you already create 3D art in Poser or Daz Studio then you may not know that there are many free Halloween models, backgrounds and other assorted Halloween goodies available for download at this time of year.

Here is a list of where to find free Poser models, backgrounds, and textures for your 3D Halloween artwork.

1. Runtime DNA's Shocktoberfest has to be one of my favorite places to get free Halloween models. The really cool thing about their site is that they also list the freebies from the last two years, so if you missed something from 2005 or 2006 it's all there! They have everything from coffins, to props, to poses to backgrounds all geared for the Halloween season and just waiting for you to download.

2. Need a broom for your Halloween witch to fly on? Here is the perfect witchy broom for your witch. I really like this one because it doesn't look like a modern broom but like what we would think of as a witch's broom.

3. Need some great spooky backgrounds for your Halloween renders, and don't want to pay for them? Check out Werewolf Nights Backgrounds. These have a very surreal feel to them, not to mention scary so they should be perfect. Backgrounds are nice because you don't always have the time or patience create a scene from props, and backgrounds save you time.

4. If you're looking for monsters for your renders take a look at these which include a skeleton, a chupacapra, an alien, and other assorted monster models. You won't want to miss these if you want something scary to chase Vicky!

5. Want some trick-or-treat bags for your Poser kids? These Halloween candy bags are perfect for your little Poser spook, goblin or witch. Everything is there and best of all they are free!

6. Aiko 3 is a free Poser character available from Daz3D. There is a wonderful little witch outfit that is also free that is specially made for Aiko. Sione's Halloween Dress which includes a cute little witch's hat and some Halloween jewelry that can even be used with other outfits would be great paired with the witchy broom mentioned previously! There are also a couple of great Halloween texture sets for this outfit as well. Witchy by Fairy Realm is one, and the other can be found here.

7. What Halloween render would be complete without a ghost. While there are ways to make your Poser characters appear as though they are ghosts, if you are looking for the traditional Halloween haunt to scare the kiddies you should check out this ghost prop it's positively frightening.

8. Maybe you're really into horror though, if so you may find this skinless corpse texture for your Daz Millenium characters to be just the thing to give those looking at your renders the creeps.

9. Digital Designs Unlimited has a couple of Halloween background packages that are well worth taking a look at. You do have to put them in your cart and check out so to speak as if you were purchasing them, but they are free. I particularly like the Midnight Magic one!

10. Download this really spooky character, LaTisha for V3 complete with spiderweb make-up! She will definitely give your Poser kids, not to mention the adults second thoughts. If you'd like another scary V3 character check out Valarie. Both of these characters are from FaerieDreams2.

These freebies are only a small portion of what is available online for your Poser Halloween renders, but this list will get you started!
