Free Online Movies & Television Shows

Tonya Hillukka
It used to be that people either watched movies in a theater or rented one and watched it in the comfort of their own home. Then Netflix and Movies-On-Demand came along. All of these options cost money, however. Could there possibly be a way for movie buffs to legally watch movies for free? It's true - all you need to watch free movies is a computer with Internet access.

Here are five of the best places to look for free movies online:

Watch free movies online at Online Video Guide

When you visit the OV (Online Video) Guide, you will notice that the entire page is filled with categories to choose from. This is basically a "One-Stop Shop". The OV Guide is your directory for all the various free websites you have to choose from. Some people, however, prefer something far less complicated.

Watch free movies online at Hulu.com

Hulu.com, on the other hand, is fairly easy to navigate. At Hulu.com, you can either stream episodes from your favorite television show or you can choose from a variety of popular movies to watch. You may even watch trailers for the up-and-coming movies to help decide whether you wisht to see them or not.

Watch free movies at TVShack.net

TV Shack is another popular place to watch free movies online. TV Shack not only features today's most popular television shows and movies, but it also provides news updates and the latest forum posts on the home page. If you are looking for a particular movie, there is a search bar where you can type in the title of the movie.

Watch free movies at Internet Archive

The Internet Archive has many free movies to download. Most of the movies at Internet Archive are older classics that are in the public domain. There are also newsreels, documentaries, TV programs, and trailers available to watch online.

Watch free movies online at YouTube

As one of the most popular free online video outlets, YouTube is not just about cute clips and silly home videos. You will also find news clips, television shows, and movie trailers at YouTube.com. Everything on YouTube is organized into categories, from gaming and comedians to politicians and reporters, to help make your experience here less complicated. There is also a search bar on the website for those of you who know what you are looking for.

You have to option to watch popular television shows online for free, as well. These shows can be found at the TV Network website. America's Got Talent, for example, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien may be viewed any time of the day at NBC.com. Fox.com and CBS.com also offer viewers the opportunity to catch up on their favorite shows at any time of the day.

I've been going to Hulu.com for quite some time... Websites like that are awesome for me because I have internet but no cable tv (not to mention, I get to watch the exact show I want to watch at the time I want to watch it. It's better than Tivo!).
