In the search for a freelance writer, it can get difficult to find the right place that will allow you to network and communicate with potential freelance writers.
Looking for a writer to produce quality articles for your specific opportunity?
Here is a list of recommended websites where to find freelance writers;
scriptlance.com
ScriptLance is a wonderful resource for outsourcing short term projects. It is a directory of freelancers that offer anything from web design, programming and writing gigs. This would be the first recommended website for posting a freelance writer wanted ad. One great feature is that you can post an ad based on the urgency of the job, and look for freelance writers that are able to produce content on short term notice.
getafreelancer.com
There is a lot of talent on Getafreelancer, similar to Scriptlance, it allows you to post an ad based on requirements. It also has freelancers in different categories and experience. One feature I like at Getafreelancer is that the poster or business posting the ad has to pay a fee in order to have an ad processed. I believe that this option turns fraudsters away, and gives reassurance to freelance writers that you are a legitimate person and not a scammer. Responders are also able to upload sample work and bid on jobs.
shelancers.com/directory/Writers/Article-Writers/
Shelancers is just as it sounds, women who are freelancers in different service categories. The writers are listed with their names, websites and specializations. There are also rankings for freelance writers, if you are looking for the best of the best.
craiglist.com
So, Craiglist, sometimes gets a bad rap for having too much scam and fraud around. While I do believe that Craiglist can have questionable ads, and should internally do more screening in what they allow to be posted, I also believe that are honest individuals there looking for good paying opportunities.
Freelance writers will reply to ads they are interested in, at which time you can provide more information. It is a good place to look for talent, but use caution with any website, not just Craiglist.
The world of Blogging
Bloggers make great freelance writers. Paid bloggers are looking for opportunities to make extra money, this is why they are able to turn in quality articles at a given deadline. Freelance writing opportunities for bloggers also provide them experience to further their blogs, and learn new methods of quality writing such as search engine optimization. Asking a blogger for a freelance writing gig would be a great suggestion, as they are already experienced with the world of blogging and producing unique reading material.

Post a CommentStay away from Rent-A-Coder, however. They ripped me off when a client claimed I had plagiarized. The client got the UN-plagiarized work, I got banned, and I never got paid. Rent-A-Coder equals Ripoff Central. As for Get a Freelancer: that's where I landed my biggest paying gig to date: writing the Q&A for Disney Scene It, 2006 edition.
Great info. Didn't know about shelancers...thanks !
Great list of resources, thanks.
