Where to Find Great Deals on Maternity Clothes

Megan Freed
If you've ever had to buy maternity clothes, you will know what I'm talking about when I say that they are ridiculously expensive! I've been trying to figure out for the longest time exactly why maternity clothes are so much more expensive then regular, everyday clothing is. While I know that there are women out there who don't think twice about the price of maternity clothes because they need them, I just can't bring myself to spend twelve dollars on a single shirt that I'm only going to wear for a few months, especially since I am living on a budget already with having 3 other children and bills to pay. I mean, even the maternity clothes that places like Wal-Mart sell are over-priced.

So, because I need maternity clothes and would rather not spend the money to buy brand new maternity clothes at full price, I've been checking out other places to buy maternity clothes. Of course there are places like Good Will and Salvation Army and other thrift stores, which generally have pretty good deals on clothing, but I have a hard time finding the "cute" maternity clothes at thrift stores. I just don't like what I see there. So, I decided to check out eBay and I ended up finding some really good deals.

Anyone who's ever used eBay before knows that when you find a good deal on there, it isn't going to last long because people are going to bid, bid, bid until they drive the price through the roof, which actually happened on the first eBay auction I bid on for maternity shirts, but I was till able to find lots of good deals on there. My favorite being, I bid on 2 separate auctions at the same time, both by the same seller (so I could get the combined shipping rate if I won them both!). Each auction was for 2 maternity shirts and I waited until there was just 2 hours left to go on each auction before I bid and at that time there hadn't been a single bid on either of them. I ended up winning both auctions and the total price I paid for 4 shirts and the shipping was $12.00. Now that is the kind of deal I'm talking about. Brand new, I wouldn't have been able to get more than one shirt at that price and yet I got 4.

So, if you're like me and you're living on a budget and you just can't fathom buying maternity clothes at full price, check out the thrift stores near you, and the yard sales, and especially eBay!

I live in Collegeville and created a website for Mothers and Mothers-to-be. www.BetweenRBellies.com is your online source to buy and sell maternity clothing as well as newborn to 24 months. Let's face it- with this economy it just makes sense to connect and help each other out! Between R Bellies is a lot cheaper than those other auction websites to buy and sell, so please take a look! You can shop from the comfort of your home, and connect with other Moms. You can also ship right from your doorstep- can't beat it! Please pass this on to all of your friends and family too! www.BetweenRBellies.com

    Thank you-
