Where to Find Halloween Pumpkin Carving Patterns

SE
Many people carve pumpkins for Halloween. Jack O'Lantern patterns range from the traditional grimacing face to the intricate designs that look very time consuming. Carving kits can be purchased that contain these intricate designs but they can be expensive. Fortunately there are some great patterns available online, making it easy to have a great pumpkin for Halloween.

Ehow.com has some downloadable templates. The patterns range from faces to skulls to spiders and spider webs. Just download a template, enlarge it if necessary, and print it out. If you're not sure how to carve your pumpkin using the template you printed, the website also has some tips and tricks for how to do this.

Spookmaster.com has a much larger selection of pumpkin carving patterns. Some of the more interesting patterns include Darth Vader and King Tut's burial mask, which would no doubt give you a creative Jack O'Lantern. However, many patterns are only available with subscription. The site has some free patterns as well.

Familyfun's Halloween Fright Site has a lot of fun ideas for pumpkin carving too. Here you can find patterns to use when carving, as well as ideas for what to do with a whole pumpkin (such as turning a pumpkin into a UFO).

Dltk-holidays.com has a few fun patterns too, like Blues Clues and Scooby Doo. The site also has some color pictures, not just black and white diagrams. The patterns are free. This site also has detailed, easy to follow instructions on how to use the patterns when carving your Jack O'Lantern.

If you want to share the fun of pumpkin carving with children, parents.com has some Halloween pumpkin carving ideas that are kid friendly. The site features full color photos that can be enlarged and easily printed for use.

If you want to do your own design, but want to see how it looks on a pumpkin before actually carving, visit www.toilette-humor.com. This site lets you carve a virtual pumpkin. Your mouse pointer becomes a knife, and you just click and drag. Just don't let go of your mouse until you're done drawing the shape you want cut out. The site loads fast, is easy to use, and is fun in addition to being helpful.

Now that you have some ideas of what pattern you might want to use, you just need a pumpkin! Be sure to keep it safe when making your Jack O'Lantern and help kids with the carving.
