Where to Find Low Cost Kids Bedroom Accessories in Englewood, CO

Englewood Family Matters: Finding Bargain Kids Bedroom Decor

Y! Lyn
Kids need or want more in their rooms than you anticipated? Head to find some bargains around Englewood! It's not as difficult as you may think. Sure there are regular sales and sometimes circular coupons. But that's not all there is to finding bargains on décor and furniture. As a mom of four, I've been down this road a time or two. Here are some of my best secrets to finding bargain kids bedroom items.

Check thrift stores. You'd be surprised at some of the great finds at Englewood thrift stores. You may not necessarily want a used mattress for your child. However, a refurbished one could work. Also, wood furniture can last quite a long time if built well. If you want something sturdy at an affordable price, the thrift store is the way to go. Remember not to take some kids items for face value. You can always refurbish an item that looks a little rough on the edges.

Search for going out-of-business sales. It's a sad fact, but stores are always going out of business for various reasons. But that doesn't always mean their items aren't of value. Going out-of-business sales can save you big on kids room décor and furniture in Englewood. Oftentimes the discounts are anywhere from 50-90% off retail. Even if the items would normally be out of your price range, they may not be at a sale like this. You can check local papers, as well as drive around town and look for going-out-of-business signs. You help the store owners by taking some unneeded merchandise off their hands while helping yourself to a good deal.

Take advantage of year-end clearances. Just as there are always going-out-of-business sales, there are always year-end clearances in Englewood. Retailers need to switch out merchandise at the beginning of each year to keep fresh items in stock. This keeps people interested. But that doesn't mean the previous year's stock is bad. It only means it needs to be moved to make way for the new items. Décor is one item that gets switched out extremely often - especially children's décor. Why not do them a favor and take advantage of the opportunity. Many retailers have these sales each season. But the biggest is often near the end of the year, especially right after Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even if you are not Christmas shopping, you can take advantage of these deals on kids décor and furniture items.

Check Craigslist and freecycle for free and discount pieces. Don't underestimate web ads when it comes to free and discount items. Some people may be scammers. But there are a good number of deals to be had. Craigslist and Freecycle are often full of people giving away free items. Freecycle only offers free items and Craigslist allows users to sell items and post ads to give them away for free. Either way, it's usually a bargain. Just watch for people who make odd offers, like sending money to foreign countries. Check the Denver listings Craigslist for the Englewood items. The Denver section covers much of the metro area, including Englewood.

Hunt for internet-only bargains. Some Englewood stores have internet-only pieces or sales that only occur online. Even small shops have websites and offer discounts. Then, there are also stores that sell items strictly online. Check these for clearance children's décor and furniture or specials you won't see in the stores. Many times the web only deals will beat out what's sold in the stores, even if it's the same exact item. Sometimes the deal is still a good one, even after paying shipping. Watch for abnormally high shipping rates or prices that seem far too low when getting deals online.

Shop at dollar and closeout stores. You may have to steer clear of lead-painted items when shopping at some dollar stores. But it's not all that way. Dollar stores often have similar items you would find in other stores, but at a fraction of the cost. Closeout stores have an even wider selection. Englewood has several dollar and closeout stores. Sometimes the stores the items came from have ordered too many - or the item has been replaced with something else. This is to your benefit. Your child gets good quality bedroom décor at sometimes even 80% or less than the original sticker price.

They are working on a new shop called Upscale Resale. Maybe that is something like what you mean. It hasn't opened yet, but they have the sign up and it looks like they are stocking inventory and setting the store up.

Though they are few and far between, upscale consignment shops offer great prices on good quality bedroom accessories. Does Englewood or the surrounding areas have any?

Since I volunteer at a local non-profit Thrift Store, I can testify that the furniture is first rate and not what you'd expect to find. Never underestimate the thrift stores :) cheers, good article!
