There are tips for where to buy materials for the steampunk goggles. I have also listed a few places around the house and other places you can use that won't cost you any extra money.

Where to buy materials for making your own steampunk goggles?

While shopping any of the following places to buy items for steampunk goggles, check to see if they have small tools you will need.

Salvation Army Thrift Stores. The first link for the goggles listed the materials needed for his pair. The Salvation Army Thrift Store was listed as one of the locations for buying materials.

Leather Supply Company. Locally, I could go to Tandy Leather and buy this product. However, if you look at thrift stores, you may be able to find a scrap or a clothing item made out of leather or faux leather.

Craft Stores. Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, or Michael's may have the leather, brass, and other items.

Plumbing Stores. Some of the goggles require couplers for pipe. You may be able to find some of the other materials, such as Clear Liquid Nails, while in these stores. Sometimes the out of the way plumbing stores have items not found at Lowe's or Home Depot. The reason those stores are mentioned, older homes require some items not found at warehouse type stores.

Garage and Estate Sales. You would be surprised at the items you can find at either of these types of sales. Estate sales often have years worth of items people have kept for one reason or another. You can often find craft items that are no longer being made and sold. You can also find old costume jewelry you can incorporate into a steampunk piece. Not to mention broken watches, alarm clocks, tube TVs, and other electronics that have parts you can use.

Online. Of course there are several stores online that sell items for steampunk crafting. You could start with eBay or Amazon to find items.

Where else can items be found for steampunk goggles?

The Garage. Your garage may have items sitting around that could be used to make a pair of steam punk goggles. Also, check for tools you can use for your steampunk goggles and other crafts. Hand drills, soldering irons, dremel tools, metal cutting scissors, and screw drivers are often tools used in this craft.

Broken Electronics. Before throwing that broken piece of electronics out, strip it down. You may find hundreds or thousands of parts to use for creating your own steampunk items.

The Closet. You may find buckles, boots, and other accessories lying around at the bottom or top of your closet to use.

Junk Drawer. You would be surprised at what can be found and used in those junk drawers around the house to make steampunk items.

Dumpsters. Before turning your nose up at this idea, consider the areas where you could find items to use that aren't covered with 50 kinds of stinky fish, meats, and other foods.

Along side the road. If you have ever seen items lying along side the road that fell off someone's vehicle while moving, you may find a few pieces from that item to use in your steampunk creations.
