When I was first looking for support groups for overactive bladder, I was embarrassed to go into a support group in person. That is the great thing about the Internet; you can get the support and help you need without feeling awkward. I had a lot of luck finding several support groups that really helped me get through my diagnosis. Here are some helpful support groups.
Cystitis and Overactive Bladder Foundation
This is a great website that has a lot of information about your health and overactive bladder. This site also has forums and support groups that can offer a lot of help in dealing with your overactive bladder concerns. I love this site because it has a lot of medical information and other facts that you can discuss with your doctor.
Yahoo groups are great because they always provide a lot of information from other people in the same situation. I have always loved Yahoo groups because you can have the posts delivered directly to your email - it can't get any easier than that. You do have to take the things that you hear with a grain of salt, and make sure you consult your doctor before you try any treatments. This Yahoo incontinence group is a great support group to anyone with overactive bladder.
Your local Hospital
You will have to see people face to face for these support groups, but they are a great option. Often if you check with your doctor or look on your hospital bulletin board, you will find overactive bladder support groups. These are great groups because they are local, and can offer so much personal support. Many times these support groups are headed by a nurse from the hospital, so the information is very accurate.
This is a great site to find out answers to any questions you have about your overactive bladder. This site has many links to support groups for overactive bladder. When you have a health condition such as overactive bladder, the more information you know the better you can take care of your health.
Overactive bladder can be an embarrassing and hard health problem to deal with, but if you look around you can find many support groups that will help you be happy with your health.
