Where to Find the Perfect Artificial Christmas Tree

Jessica Ann
I grew up with fake Christmas trees until I moved out on my own and quite honestly, sometimes it seems those fake trees were so much easier. Then again, when I was a child, the choices of artificial trees was nothing like what you can find today. These days the artificial trees sometimes look more realistic and fuller than a real tree. Here are some places to check out artificial Christmas trees and what one might set you back in comparison to a real tree.

Home Depot is probably one of the best stores to find a really great artificial tree. You can either peruse the store selection or order exactly what you want without leaving your house. The first thing you should always do is figure out what kind of space you will have for your tree as these days you can get them in a variety of heights and widths. If you're pressed for space, say a small apartment or townhouse you can find the perfect fit. One tree they offer for a tight space is a very slim tree for a price of $79.99 and stands 7'1/2" tall. It's only 3' in diameter so it can fit into any corner with ease and at under 10 lbs. will be easy for anyone to set up. Just keep in mind that if you decide to order on-line as opposed to in the store, you can plan on an extra $50 for standard shipping. You can also opt for a 6'1/2" Crystal White tree for $199.00 if you prefer something a little different. However, if you happen to have one of those great homes with lots of space and massive ceilings than how about a lovely 15" or 20' Canterbury Fir tree for $1,499 or $2,499 respectively. These are very full solid trees that are easy to assemble, however they weigh quite a bit, over 400 lbs, but yet the shipping price stays the same at $49.99. So cruise on into your local Home Depot and see what sort of selection they have.

Another way to go is a tiny 2' Martha Stewart mini tree that would be perfect for a corner table top tree for $10 at K-Mart. K-Mart actually has a pretty good selection of trees at reasonable prices. For instance you can get a 6' Appalachian Pine for only $49.99 or a 7' Heritage Pine for $99.99 which is a $50 savings off the regular price. Wal-Mart also have a simple selection and you can find a decent size tree there for around the same prices as K-Mart. The limbs of their Douglas Pine seemed sturdy enough to handle just about any ornament.

If you have no problem ordering on-line (I know a lot of people who just can't seem to feel comfortable doing it) then you definitely should check out christmastreesgalore.com for a fabulous selection. They offer a few trees at overstocked prices such as a Frosted Frasier Fir from $39.99 to $129.00 and depending on the availability you could get a 5', 6' or 7' tree for a very reasonable price. These lovely trees come with a little frosting at the tips and holly berry bunches so it looks more authentic. What's also great is they offer free FedEx shipping within 48 states. If you really want something authentic looking, check out the 5' Nikko Fir which is on sale for $129.00. The style looks like something you picked from a real Christmas tree farm.

An artificial tree can be decorated so beautifully that most guests in your home wouldn't even question whether it was real or not. Just spritz it down with a can of pine scent that you'll find in just about every Christmas department and you could fool just about anyone. The other plus is that you never have to worry about spending money every year for a new tree, not to mention the mess you no longer have to deal with by purchasing a good quality artificial tree.
