Where to Find Prepared Thanskgiving and Holiday Food in Destin, Florida

A lot of people want to get away to a warmer place for the Holiday season. So, many come here to Destin to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are some restaurants that will be open on each holiday, but many will shut their doors so employees can spend time with their families. Those that do remain open will serve up great holiday treats and welcome your entire family. For those who may not be familiar with holiday meal offerings in the Destin area, here is some help.

The entire Destin community is invited to attend a family tradition of free Thanksgiving dinner at Harbor Docks. Give thanks while enjoying the beauty of the Destin Harbor! Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23 at Harbor Docks in Destin, near the East Pass Bridge on Highway 98. Although dinner is free, donations are requested as a thank you and to assist Habitat for Humanity with their continued work.

The Village at Baytowne Wharf will hold Celebrations on the Sea this Holiday season. The Baytowne Marina will offer a Thanksgiving Cruise on Nov. 23 aboard the area's only fine- dining entertainment yacht. Dinner menus feature fresh Gulf seafood, prime beef, and full service bar. A children's menu is also available for those under 10.

There's also a New Year's Eve Cruise to watch the fireworks show on the Solaris and the American Star yachts.

Hot cider and cookie cruises will be held Nov. 21 and 22 on the American Star. You will cruise around the Choctawhatchee Bay for one-and-a-half hours, enjoying beautiful nature and picturesque skies. Cost is $28 for adults and $14 for children up to 12 years old.

For information and reservations, call (850) 267-777. (Reservations are strongly recommended.) Cruises board at 6:30pm, begin at 7pm, and will return to the dock at 10pm. Prices for dinner cruises begin at $65 for adults and $45 for children.

Retail store hours on Thanksgiving Day will be 10am to 3pm, but all restaurants and nightlife will remain open. However, call individual merchants for specific holiday hours to be certain.
