Corporate Training Programs
I am a firm believer one should take any training or development opportunity an employer offers. Many companies offer project management courses either online or instructor led. Most of the time these courses are more tailored to your task at hand. However, sometimes these courses can give you credit towards professional certification.
Schools
Correspondence schools offer online and correspondence courses on project management. These courses often offer a certificate of completion one could put on their resume. These courses offer a great way to find general knowledge on project management. If one is enrolled in a college or university they could take project management courses as part of a business curriculum or as an elective. If one already has a degree several colleges and university offer special program management certificates. Do not over look community colleges. One could earn continuing education units (CEUs) for their profession or to add to their resume. One could earn credits toward a respectful American Management Association programs. One could also earn credits towards a certification from the Project Management Institute.
Societies
One could take courses to complete an American Management Association program. However, if one is looking for a career in project management certification from the Project Management Institute is highly recommended. The Project Management Institute (PMI) offers five different certificates for project management professionals. It is also a professional society for professionals. PMI offers e-learning and seminars so members and interested individuals can find the project management knowledge they need and can make progress towards being professionally certified.
