Hundreds of Recipes Contests Await You Thousands of Prizes
If your are serious about entering recipe contests, or just want to know where to find them, here are 6 places to discover hundreds upon hundreds of recipe contests each year.
1. Google Alerts. Go to Google Alerts and use key words such as recipe contest, recipe contest winner, cooking contest. You can be notified once a day, or once a week on all the latest recipe contest news.
2. Regularly visit the web site of your local grocery store chain. You probably have at least 2 or 3 major grocery stores in your city and by visiting their website weekly, not only will you see their weekly ad and grocery special, but you will note any recipe contests and special promotions. Generally the grocery store web sites also have a recipe section which will give you inspiring ideas to create your own unique recipes for future contests.
3. Food products and food product web sites. When you are grocery shopping pay attention to the packaging of the products you buy. Often sponsors will advertise their recipe contests on a hang tag on the product, or on the label itself. For example, you may be buying a package of a name brand deli sliced ham and see they are having a contest for recipes using one of their ham products. Or you may be buying refrigerated dough for cookies and see that the company is having a creative cookie contest. Also become familiar with the web site urls of food companies, which are often listed on their products. By creating a list of bookmarks, you can set aside a few minutes each week to check your list of bookmarked food companies to see what their latest promotions are and if they are holding a recipe contest.
4. Use a search engine, such as Yahoo and search for new recipe contests.
You can use an advanced search showing only results within the past 3 months. Use the search words recipe contest 2007 if you are searching for recipe contests for the year 2007. You can further narrow your search by using words "no purchase necessary". Or if you are looking for regional or local contests you can add in your state or city to narrow it even more.
5. Cooking Contest Central. If you regularly visit Cooking Contest Central you can view all the latest recipe contests and contest news. Although Cooking Contest Central has a paid membership, there are portions of their website that require no membership and you can view some of the more popular contests. After you win your first recipe contest, then you might splurge for a membership to a recipe contest website like Cooking Contest Central. Also, if you browse their free to the public open sections and archives, you will notice that there are expired recipe contests which are often repeated in the future. Some of those recipe contests are monthly or quarterly or annually.
6. Newspapers and Magazines. Many times recipe contests are advertised or promoted in cooking and women's interest magazines or in the local food section of your newspaper. Once you star keeping an eye out for them, you will see how often they pop up.
Entering recipe contests can be a fun and great hobby that yields wonderful prizes and also increases your enjoyment with cooking and experimenting with newly created recipes!
Good luck and win something great!
